Concerns about the practice of a Doctor

If a Doctor is not meeting the standards set by the General Medical Council (GMC), you can report this issue to the GMC. The GMC is the organisation which registers doctors in the UK; they have the power to investigate any concerns against standards of practice. The GMC can issue a warning, suspend or place conditions on a doctor’s registration, or remove a them from the register.

Doctors must be registered with a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC) to legally practise medicine in the UK.

Concerns about the practice of a Dentist

If a dentist or dental care professional is not meeting the standards set by the General Dental Council (GDC), you can report this issue to the GDC. The GDC is the organisation which registers dentists and dental care professionals in the UK; they have the power to investigate any concerns against standards of practice. The GDC can issue a warning, suspend or place conditions on dentist’s or dental care professional’s registration, or remove them from the register.

Dentist’s and Dental care professionals must be registered with the GSM to legally work in the UK.

Concerns about the practice of a nurse or midwife

If a nurse or midwife is not meeting the standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), you can report this issue to the NMC. The NMC is the organisation which registers nurses and midwifes in the UK; they have the power to investigate any concerns against standards of practice. The NMC can issue a warning, suspend or place conditions on nurse’s or midwife’s registration, or remove them from the register.

Nurses and Midwife’s must be registered with the NMC to legally work in the UK.
