Healthwatch Merton (HWM) are recruiting a new chair

Could you be our new chair?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to become our chair, lead our HWM Delivery Programme Group (HWMDPG), represent us on the Health & Wellbeing Board and other relevant boards and committees while also becoming part of our host organisation (Merton Connected) Trustee Board as the Healthwatch Merton portfolio holder and lead.

The successful person will live or work in Merton and have a range of transferable skills.

Healthwatch Merton Chair will:

Be responsible for supporting the HWM Delivery Programme Group (Consists of volunteer reps from public and local Organisations) to agree the Healthwatch Merton annual work programme and have subsequent oversight ensuring local people’s voices are heard in NHS health and social care.

Be a key spokesperson for Healthwatch Merton and have the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to be perceived by partners and the public as a credible figurehead for a professional, responsive and evidence-based organisation.

Lead the HWMDPG in supporting Healthwatch Merton to enable all people and communities in Merton to have their voices heard.

Promote volunteering and the opportunities it brings to enable people to make a difference within their own communities.

Ensure they and the other HWMDPG Members, staff team, and volunteers operate in line with Healthwatch values.

Be an active ambassador for Healthwatch Merton across the borough
